The statues have bodies. You looked at them for two hundred years and nobody dug. Under each head there are shoulders, arms, hands, and carving on the backs that no living person can read. Nine hundred of them, most still buried. Your guidebooks call them heads. This is the part I want on record: you assumed the whole thing was above ground, and for two centuries not one of you brought a shovel. The marks on the backs are a list.
